Russian Dolls: Michael Needs a Publisher!

Someone pointed out in our comment section that Michael is looking for a publisher for a book of Russian recipes that will come out of his restaurant's kitchen and which will be headed up by Marina, the reality show star.   According to Marina's press release last week, you would have thought offers were pouring in from publishers, here is a quote: "She received a great deal of interest in getting her own reality show and writing a cookbook of her favorite Russian recipes from Rasputin. The cookbook will feature contemporary Russian cuisine from the restaurant."

Where did all the interest for this cookbook go?  Well I think we all know it was never there to begin with.  Marina and Michael are trying desperately to milk there 15 minutes of fame and turn it into money, but the problem is they are their own worst enemies thanks to the show and how they were portrayed.  Michael came across as a man without backbone who takes orders from his screw of a wife.  A wife who insulted his mother many times on national television, without a word out of him.  Marina came across as a loud, obnoxious, self-centered, materialistic, rude, shrilled voiced, controlling woman.

Anyone who knows anything about publishing a book knows you have to have the interest of a literary agent and something to show them that will sell.  If you can do that, the agent will try to get interest from publishers and strike a deal.  What do Michael and Marina have to bring to the table?  Recipes from their restaurant and Marina's picture for the cover?  How much do you think that will be worth?  Just reading it make me laugh!

  1. Love Michael's post about taking advantage of the opportunity that close to a million people saw them and "developed affinity for Marina and Rasputin". Heck, a lot more people have seen Monica Levinski than Marina Levitis. And how many handbags did Monica sell:-)? Anyway, the cause of the cookbook could really be promoted inclduing a few pictures of Marina eating he own food:-) Like the ones from this blog:-):-):-)

  2. Great points and in fact if they do use pictures of Marina eating...they better make it a diet book, because it will be sure to kill anyone's appetite. LOL

  3. awesomeness. Marina is the most unmarketable unlikable person EVER. and she is still posting nasty things about Sveta all over fb... and everyone i know who saw the show think Sveta and Renta both deserved the apology. honestly, the whole show was terrible and i'm glad glad glad its over.
if there is another one russian dolls type show i hope they will use the beautiful, hard working, respectful women that are in great supply around here. no need for trash like Marina. PLEASE lifetime! no more Marina... ever again!!!

  4. He also said in his Facebook that he is not a loser type who gives up easily. Well, he gave himself up easily and plead guilty to charges against him in the Kruger case. Didn't put up a fight against those charges.

  5. I am looking forward to Marina's cookbook. I've been to Rasputin and the food there is amazing! I think Marina Levitis is the Russian answer to Theresa Guidice. She is a proud, confident, accomplished Russian woman and I am raising my daughters to be just like her. I need to buy this cookbook asap!

  6. Natasha you seem a little biased towards Marina. I would think twice about raising your duaghters to be just like Marina, have you heard how she bad mouths her mother inlaw, belittles her husband, and starts brawls out in public for starters? I'm glad you are waiting for her cookbook, at least she will be able to sell one.

or b. has never eaten there!
the food there is terrible! in fact they JUST changed the head chef a few weeks ago (michael posted about this on fb)
why would anybody change the chef of the food was so great??? it used to be really good, but that was way before the current owners took over.
